What I’m Reading: Graphic Novel Edition

Hey everyone! The past month was pretty fun for superheros with the release of Thor: Ragnorak and Justice League. One of my managers at work also gave me an armful of graphic novels to borrow (I guess they figured out I’m a bit of a geek-whoops)! These are all DC; to be honest, I feel like I enjoy reading those more even if I might generally prefer Marvel movies (although now DC’s got Wonder Woman, so…). Anyways, here are the graphic novels I’m reading!

  • Justice League: Cry for Justice by James Robinson, Mauro Cascioli, and Scott Clark
  • Justice by Alex Ross
  • Wonder Woman Rise of the Olympian by Gail Simone, Aaron Lopresti, and Bernard Chang
  • Wonder Woman Ends of the Earth by Gail Simone, Aaron Lopresti, and Bernard Chang
  • Wonder Woman Warkiller by Gail Simone, Aaron Lopresti, and Bernard Chang
  • Wonder Woman Contagion by Gail Simone, Nicola Scott, and Fernando Dagnino
  • Secret Six: Money for Murder by Gail Simone, Nicola Scott, Doug Hazlewood, and Javier Pina

Personally, I can’t stand all of the cliffhangers that come with short comics, so I really love how graphic novels contain most (if not all) of a story arc. I’ve already finished some of these, and I have really been enjoying them so far! The Wonder Woman ones have some darker aspects to them, but it’s done in a way where you’re still rooting for Wonder Woman in the end.

Especially with all the action, it’s nice to have artwork to complement the story. Overall, I’m excited to finish reading these! I might have to check out my local comic store after to find some more to read.

What are some of your favorite graphic novels?
