I like to take a moment at the end of the year to reflect on everything that’s happened. This year included a lot of excitement, and I would have to say that it really wasn’t a bad year for me. Obviously there were struggles, but they all seemed to turn out okay in the end. Let’s take a look back into my year, shall we?
Went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
I’ve wanted to go to Universal Studios since the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was added, and I finally got to go! The quidditch world cup was nearby, so my friends and I stayed an extra day to go to the park! It would have been better if part of the group wasn’t in a rush to leave, but the experience was amazing! It was a fun Harry Potter-filled weekend.
Graduated from college
No more classes for me! It’s been kind of nice, although I do miss learning and writing (now I have more time and a blog, so I’m pretty content). I don’t have a job related in my field either so it makes me wonder if the school aspect to it really accomplished anything for me. The day before graduation, I decided to spontaneously decorate my graduation cap with this weird fabric paint stuff. It didn’t really turn out exactly how I wanted it, but I still liked it.
Got 13 stitches in my knee
I went to a fantasy quidditch tournament (where everyone signed up as an individual and captains picked teams for the weekend) where we spent the night at a campsite. It was very dark and had a huge pile of rocks in between some of the tents that I didn’t notice until I fell into them and split my knee. I never had to get stitches before, so it was a new experience that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
I never really understood the hype until I went into the store and actually bought some items. Now I’m a bit addicted. I’m personally not the biggest fan of baths, but I’ve fallen in love with their shampoo/conditioner bars and other products. Plus, the company is involved in a lot of campaigns (like to stop shark finning!), is against animal cruelty, uses vegetarian (and sometimes completely vegan) materials, and uses little packaging to make their products more sustainable. Yep, I’m in love.
Moved into an apartment
I lived on campus when I was in college, so it was nice to finally live in an apartment away from campus. There’s no meetings, no RA’s, and lots more amenities. The best part? Tigger gets to live with me!
Saw Halsey in concert
I already made a post about this (sorry-I’m obsessed), but I had such a great time! I normally go to concerts that my parents or friends bring me to (which are still awesome), so it was amazing to go to one from the artist who I have constantly listened to since I discovered her.
In addition to my favorite experiences, I’ve also included a few extras of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to this year:
- Hopeless Fountain Kingdom – Halsey
- Reputation – Taylor Swift
- Divide – Ed Sheeran
- The Beautiful & Damned – G-Eazy
- The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater
- The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
- The Gospel of Loki by Joanne Harris
- The Things We Wish Were True by Marybeth Mayhew Whalen
- Wonder Woman
- Thor: Ragnorak
- Justice League
- Annabelle: Creation
Favorite TV Shows
- New Girl
- Once Upon a Time
- Game of Thrones
