Guess what I did again? I purchased more books even though I haven’t had any time to read whatsoever! My friend wanted to go to Books a Million, and I couldn’t say no to a weekend trip to the bookstore. Books-a-Million always has interesting books on sale, so I always want to buy everything. This time, I managed to limit myself to four books.
All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda
I found another suspenseful thriller! This one seems to have more of a nostalgic feel to it, which is always fun to read. The main character, Nicolette, had left town ten years ago. She left behind the man she saw herself marrying and a best friend who had went missing. She returns to help her sick dad, but then another girl disappears. This book looks like it’ll keep me intrigued!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I think I’ve seen this book somewhere…it might’ve been on Instagram. The cover looks so pretty. It takes place in a fictional world where there’s an engaging performance called Caraval that happens yearly. Scarlet is invited to the show and finds out that her sister, Tella, was kidnapped by the show’s organizer. Whoever finds Tella first wins the show.
Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly
I love mermaid/siren stories, so I was happy to find this book. This novel follows Sera, who’s in line to rule one of the merfolk civilizations. Her mother is poisoned by an assassin, and Sera has to go on a journey to break up a conspiracy that could threaten all of the merfolk civilizations.
Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
I used to be a huge Sarah Dessen fan when I was in high school, so I couldn’t resist one of her latest novels. This one is about a girl named Sydney whose life changes when her brother is arrested. Her family is then brought into the public eye, which leads Sydney to spend more time with another local family who comforts her.
What have you all been reading lately? I’d love some more recommendations!
