Vogue Parody 73 Questions Challenge

1. What’s your usual Starbucks order?

I normally run into Starbucks to get a quick iced coffee (with some caramel syrup and cream of course) between classes and volunteering. When I’m treating myself though, I like to purchase their iced white chocolate mocha.

2. What does your workstation look like?

I feel like I’m a messily organized person. When I’m in the middle of a project, I’ll probably have the materials (papers, pens, notepads, etc.) spread out all over my desk. Then I’ll go on an organizing spree and clean everything. Aside from that, I have a Loki and a Spider-Man mug to keep pencils and pens in.

3. Favourite food?

I love avocados.

4. Favourite author?

This is so difficult, there are so many good ones. I used to read Sarah Dessen books all the time, and I also read a lot of books that I enjoyed by Khaled Hosseini.

5. What do you think of open relationships?

I don’t think I could do it. I mean, I like to have my own time and space, but since I only like to focus on one person romantically, I would expect the same from whomever I’m dating.

6. What is your favourite video game?

Spiderman for PS4! I love that game so much. I just purchased the downloadable extra content, so I have more to play! I also love Injustice and Skyrim! Of course, I’m always playing the Sims as well.

7. Guilty pleasure treat?

Probably coffee. I’m always hyped for coffee.

8. Favourite movie?

I re-watch Marvel movies allllll the time.

9. Favourite book?

This question is too broad. Um, I recently read “Uprooted” by Naomi Novik and it was a good read.

10. Twitter or Instagram?

I actually do like using Instagram (especially my personal account since I’m not really trying to grow it or anything), but I would have to say Twitter. Twitter is so much easier to meet other bloggers/YouTubers and interact with the people you follow!

11. Desktop or laptop?

Laptop. It’s nice and portable so I can bring it to work/class.

12. Best advice you’ve ever received?

Something along the lines of you don’t have to be perfect to be happy. I used to think everything HAD to be perfect to achieve things in life, when really that’s not true.

13. What project are you working on right now?

Oh, so many. I’m trying to work on my blog and YouTube, learn all this computer science stuff from classes, and trying to improve my drawing skills.

14. Favourite colour?

Purple and green are my favorites! I prefer the darker shades for both.

15. Did you get good grades in school?

Yeah, for the most part. I was a studious student who did everything I was supposed to.

16. Dream job?

At this point, I honestly just want a job. I want to do something that makes a difference though. Like something that protects the environment or helps other people in some way. Right now I’m aiming for some type of computer job that develops programs or simulations that would contribute to research. Honestly, doing something similar to RDJ’s proposed Footprint Coalition to use technology/AI to help clean up the environment sounds cool too.

17. Play any sports?

Competitively, I play quidditch (yes, it’s actually a real thing). I love sports though, so I’m always down to play anything for fun (soccer, basketball, tennis, disc golf, etc.).

18. Do you have a degree?

Yes! I currently have a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science (with a concentration in conservation and a minor in English). And I’m currently taking classes that I’m intending to get some certificates and/or an Associate’s in Computer Science!

19. Nationality?

20. What is your favourite kind of blog post?

I enjoy reading all kinds. Beauty, sustainability, pop culture, books, lifestyle, etc.

21. What do you like to collect?

Funko Pop Vinyl figures! Or anything geeky.

22. Describe yourself in three words?

Weird, quiet, altruistic.

23. If you were a rapper what would your stage name be?

I have no clue. Any suggestions? I need to get my tracks out there.

24. Who was the last person you DMed?

Does DM refer to any social media chat (I’m out of the loop, I know)? If so, then probably the captain of my team (getting ready for championships, woot woot).

25. What’s on top of your wish list right now?

Well, I think my car might die soon. So maybe a new car?

26. Sorting house?

I think my results were pretty evened out among the houses, but I’m a Gryffindor!

27. How many tattoos do you have?

One! I’m undecided if I want more or not.

28. What are you most grateful for this year?

Last year, I feel like I was stuck in a cycle that I couldn’t seem to get out of. I was in a relationship I didn’t want to be in and had two barely over minimum wage jobs that took all of my time just to pay for essentials like rent/my pets. I’m still working towards where I want to be, but I’m grateful that I was able to move back with my parents and found a part-time job that’s actually flexible so I can still make a little money, but also focus on other things.

29. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this month?

I finished my first summer classes for computer programming! Two of them were certainly too easy for me while the other wasn’t organized at all, so I’m hoping next semester will be more interesting.

30. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you today?

I got some free Italian Ice at work! And convinced my parents that I should go to quidditch championships in a few weeks!

31. What’s the best thing ever?

Animals. They are so pure and cute.

32. Favourite season?

Fall. I love the overall vibe of the season. There’s pumpkins, falling leaves, cooler weather, and spooky times. What’s not to love?

33. Favourite holiday?

Halloween! I know, I know-this probably doesn’t come as a surprise after I mentioned that fall is my favorite season.

34. What fictional character do you relate to the most?

I’m not as cool as Wonder Woman, but I’m going to go with her. I love helping people and I also am kind of tough sometimes.

35. Do you like surprises?

It depends. I kind of like being in control and planning things, but some surprises can be nice.

36. What’s the biggest surprise you’ve ever had?

I guess my freshmen year I was surprised with not one, but two small birthday parties! I knew my one friend group was going to have a small celebration because two of us actually shared the same birthday, but I was really surprised when I went to a team movie night in a dorm common room and they surprised me with a homemade cake! It was so awesome!

37. Which surprise made you cry?

I don’t know? I don’t feel like I’m much of a crier. I was really touched by my previous response though, because prior to that, only my family cared about my birthday.

38. What’s the best surprise you’ve given someone else?

I think I get a lot of gifts for people that they didn’t ask for but mentioned throughout the year that they had always wanted. And I guess sometimes I clean everything up so my roommates didn’t have to, and they were pretty pleased with that. Or randomly bringing friends/roommates/my mom coffee when they’re super tired.

39. Do you like muffins?

Yeah muffins are great.

40. Do you cook often?

Yeah. Being a vegetarian has really helped me appreciate cooking for myself a lot more.

41. What’s your favourite dessert?

Ice cream!

42. Is there a dessert you don’t like?

43. Cake or pie?

Cake of course.

44. What’s your least favourite food?

Hot dogs. Whether it’s actual hot dogs or vegan hot dogs, I can’t stand them.

45. What’s your favourite condiment?

Hot sauce! I love to put it on almost everything.

46. It’s 4am on a random Saturday. What are you eating?

I’m probably drinking lots of coffee to be honest. That’s the only way I would get up at 4am on a Saturday.

47. If you could teach a college class, what would it be called?

Struggling 101.

48. Best animated film?

I don’t think I watch a lot of animated films? I’ll just go with The Little Mermaid.

49. What has a guy said or done to impress you?

Someone cooked a whole fancy, vegetarian, three course meal for me once.

50. Best thing to do on a first date?

Something crazy. I mean, I feel like I normally date people who I already know, so there’s not really a need to just grab a coffee or something. Or maybe we do grab coffee/dinner, but then do something more adventurous afterwards (like even walk along a beach or through a park or something-I love being outside).

51. Worst thing to do on a first date?

I would have to say going to a movie for a first date. I LOVE Marvel movies, so I would probably go to one with anyone but…I’m honestly going to be focused on the movie and I don’t know, I feel like in my head I’m like “oh no, is he going to try holding my hand or something, like I don’t know, I’m just going to keep my hands to myself and watch the movie”. And then leave without getting to know each other much. Really awkward stuff.

52. What’s the best pick up line?

How you doin?

53. Best comic book character?

I love Captain America and Spider-Man.

54. Name three things which can always be found in your purse.

My wallet, chapstick, a foldable reusable bag.

55. Favourite drink?

Coffee! Preferably as sweet as possible.

56. If you could play a historical character in a movie who would it be?

I loved learning about Amelia Earhart growing up, so I’m going to say her.

57. Kittens or puppies?

Oh this is a TOUGH one. I love both of them so much. I might say kittens though.

58. Favourite sushi roll?

Probably an avocado or veggie roll.

59. What lipstick do you use?

I love Urban Decay’s lipsticks! Unfortunately, I think I lost two out of the three I owned.

60. What foundation do you use?

I’ve been using Wet N Wild’s Cushion based foundation for everyday makeup, although now that Wet N Wild is no longer cruelty-free, I won’t be repurchasing that one. I also have Urban Decay’s All Nighter foundation for when I’m getting more dressed up.

61. Blow dry or air dry?

Air dry! I have lots of hair and very little patience, so blow drying gets a no thanks from me.

62. Who is your fashion icon?

I don’t think I pay much attention to fashion. I guess I look at YouTube for inspiration. Halsey always looks super cool, but I don’t think I could pull her look off. I also like to make geeky inspired looks, as in use the same color schemes as my favorite superheroes or something.

63. Favourite Disney character?

Ariel. Give me mermaids and I am happy.

64. What are you doing tomorrow?

Volunteering and procrastinating/working on homework

65. Movie you laughed the hardest through?

I don’t know, no funny movies come to mind!

66. Movie that made you cry?

Avengers: Endgame. I’m too invested in that stuff, and I didn’t want to say goodbye to any of the characters. Or any movie where a pet dies, but I block those from my memory so I don’t remember their names.

67. If you could sing a duet with anybody, who would you choose?

Halsey because she’s my favorite. I literally love all of her songs, so I’d know our duet would be amazing even though I’m terrible.

68. If your life was a song what would the title be?

Wild and Free

69. What’s your favourite animal?

I love all of them. I think I marine life interests me a little more though. So maybe dolphins, seahorses, and manatees would be my faves.

70. Favourite illustrator?

I’m not familiar with any illustrators. Disappointing, I know.

71. Person you’d like to have coffee with?

Halsey! Or maybe one of the actors from the MCU (I’m thinking Tom Holland, Chris Evans, or Tom Hiddleston?). Or anyone really, I’m down for coffee all the time.

72. What country would you like to visit?

All of them? Maybe Belize first. One of my professors in college did some research there, and it sounded so cool when he talked about it.

73. Best way to decompress?

Cuddling with my cat, walking my dog. Music helps me relax a lot too.

Here’s who I’m tagging:

  1. I’ve read a couple of Sarah Dessen’s books and really enjoyed them. I want to read more of her stuff if I’m honest. And I definitely cried at End Game too… the literal last scene got me and I am not one to cry at movies.

    • Thanks Geraldine! Ahh it’s all good, I feel like you’re either really obsessed with Marvel or you’re not haha. And yeah, quidditch is super fun! If I win one championship this summer, I think I get to play in another championship that might actually be on ESPN lol. Thanks for reading!

  4. As this was such a fun post – I think it’s so cool that you play competitive quiditch!! I’m a huge fan of avocados and Starbucks iced coffee too (although I admit that I’m drinking DD right now).

I’m sure with your environmental degree, communication skills, and comp science degree that you’ll really stand out in the job pool. It is a very unique combo in growing industries!!

I love Fall too, but Christmas is still my fave holiday for sure!

    • Quidditch is really fun! Although my team hasn’t been going to many tournaments this year, which is kinda disappointing. Lol, I’m actually drinking Dunkin right now too!
Hopefully those skills will help me ahaha. I think it would be cool to find a job that utilizes all of them, but I’m not quite sure if that will happen.
Christmas is definitely a magical part of the year too!
