Lights Lacquer Review

I used to be obsessed with nail polish. French nails, polka dots, stamp kits, water marbling…in high school, I tried it all. Nowadays I don’t have as much time for my nails, but I do like to paint them when I get the chance. I haven’t purchased any new nail polishes in a while, so when I found out that Kathleen Lights had a new nail polish brand called Lights Lacquer, I had to give it a try!

Her polishes do not contain any animal derived products, and they are “7-free,” which means they are free from harmful ingredients such as DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, TPHP, and Xylene.

I love the color options for the polishes! There’s not a huge selection, but the colors that she currently sells are amazing! There are quite a few darker shades, and there’s some metallic and glitter options as well. The names are cute, and there are quite a few named after crystals (the website includes a brief description of the healing properties of the crystal the polish takes after)! Keep reading to see which ones I picked up!

Disclaimer: I purchased these polishes and decided to review them on my own; I am not affiliated with Lights Lacquer in any way.

The Ultimate Holiday Bundle

This purchase was made in the middle of January (it took a while for me to actually write up this post and edit/upload a YouTube video for it), so the Ultimate Holiday Bundle from December was on sale for $27! Since the polishes are typically $9.50 each, this essentially meant that I got one free (or free shipping)!

This was the color that persuaded me to order these polishes. I have been searching for a green nail polish for so long (I completely used up the dark green polish I previously owned), but for some reason, I couldn’t find any at the store. I am in love with this color and will wear it often! This one is supposed to encourage growth, reflection, peace, and balance.

This is a metallic gold color that’s perfect for the holidays! I love red and gold combos, so I might use this with some of the red polishes I already own. It promotes happiness and success while removing negativity.

Cold Turkey

I love this blue-gray tone. It’s really pretty! It adds color, but it’s not incredibly vibrant. I tend to pick out very bright colors (primarily because they catch my eye at the store and I forget I need calmer colors too), but I do like colors that are more toned down. I was happy to add this to my collection!

This is a gold shimmer that also has a bit of pink to it. It’s gorgeous! I’m not sure if I would use this alone (I almost always add a color underneath glitter), but it can add some beautiful glitter over another polish!

The Holiday Collection gave me plenty of options to try…but I couldn’t resist the ‘Moonstone’ topper. Use this over another shade, and it adds a lovely sparkle! The glitter in this also has a beautiful blue color to it. Since it is based off of the healing stone moonstone, this polish is also said to bring good fortune and success, and it enhances intuition and promotes inspiration.

Final Thoughts

Overall, these polishes last as long as any other polish I’ve tried and were easy to apply. They are individually priced at $9.50 which is a little pricey, but it’s similar to the price range of some other popular brands like OPI and Essie. If you’re looking for some new polishes to try, I would look into Lights Lacquer! They offer a variety of colors, and they have a few bundles you can choose from if you are interested in purchasing more than one!

  1. I don’t paint my nails as often as I used to, but when I see beautiful colors like these. It makes me want to drop everything and add some pretty colors to my dull nails. I’ve never tried any of Lights Lacquer polishes. My go-to brand is Essie. That moonstone topper is stunning and one I’d love to add to my collection of nail polishes.
