Happy April! I know it’s a stressful time right now, but I wanted to continue to reflect on the things I’ve been enjoying this week. I personally find it better to stay optimistic whenever I can-besides, these favorites are primarily entertainment-based, so some of these things might be fun for you to try/check out as well!
In my “Things to Do When You’re Stuck At Home” post, I suggested starting a movie marathon. I finally decided to do this myself and started a Marvel marathon! I’m trying to watch them in order based on the timeline in the movies, so I’ve watched Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man. I’m terrible at binge watching movies/shows, but I’ll get through them all eventually!
Also, I’m sure I’m the only who’s thought of this, but is anyone else thankful that Endgame came out last year instead of this year? If the release of Endgame got pushed back unexpectedly due to a virus, I probably would have lost my mind (I’ve never wanted to see a movie so bad-I was even getting hyped and writing blog posts about it months before it was released). And it was definitely a see-in-theaters-first type of movie, so I doubt they would have tried an at-home release.
I found out Halsey was going to have a song called “the other girl” with Kelsea Ballerini on Kelsea’s new album, kelsea. While I have heard of Kelsea’s music before and enjoyed it, I never listened to her albums fully. Honestly I normally don’t listen to country much, but lately I’ve been feeling it (maybe self-isolation is making me crazy?). I ended up listening to her whole album this time, and I love it! Some of my favorites are “bragger” and “the way i used to.”
Halsey and Kelsea also have quite a few live performances recorded together, so if you’re interested, you can check them out on YouTube (Kelsea actually has a playlist of them on her channel). They sing a variety of songs together, including “homecoming queen” and “Bad at Love!”
I recently discovered Ingrid Andress from a tweet from Katrina who blogs over at ksloves (a fun lifestyle/beauty blog-and she just got a domain and renovated her site!), and I’ve been in love with her songs! I like “Lady Like” (the acoustic version on Spotify is my fave) and “We’re Not Friends” the most so far.
My mom bought pizza crust the last time she went grocery shopping, so we made homemade pizza! I actually made mine vegan, so it only had veggies (green peppers, banana peppers, onions, spinach), pizza sauce, and nutritional yeast! My parents normally like to eat out a lot, and one thing I’ve actually been loving about self-isolation is that I get to cook for myself more often.
One Good Dog by Susan Wilson
I found this book at a local bookshop a few months ago, but I never got around to reading it. I finally picked it up, and I loved this book! The main character does take some getting used to (he’s very arrogant, especially at first), but even if he wasn’t my favorite, I loved the dog.
*This book does include dog fighting as well (it’s not in-depth and not very frequent), so if you’re sensitive to that topic, it might be best to skip this book.
High Blog Stats
Most people seem to be experiencing a decrease in blog views, but mine actually went up last month! I was more active on social media and published more posts, so I think that helped! While I’m not too concerned with stats, it’s crazy to see them jump up. Thank you all for reading my blog! 🙂
