If you follow me on Twitter, you probably already know this (sorry-I’ve tweeted about it a lot), but my brother hooked me up with Disney+! My DVD/Blu-ray collection is almost solely Disney movies (mostly Marvel and a few of my animated Disney faves) , which is the main reason I waited this long to get an account. I told myself I’d think about it later on when some of the new Marvel series like Loki and WandaVision were released.
I was still pretty ecstatic when my brother told me he was getting Disney+. He’s not a huge Disney fan (I’m ashamed to say I have been unable to get him to watch Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame with me), so when he signed up for a year’s subscription for free, I was the first (and only) person he told.
Even though I do already have a lot of Disney movies in my collection, I was so overwhelmed with the selection Disney offers. I grew up with Disney Channel, so all of the original Disney channel movies and shows also sound appealing to me. Plus, I haven’t caught up with some of the newer releases, so I’ll finally have the chance to watch them!
What I’ve Watched
Onward
I love Tom Holland, so I was happy to see this new Pixar movie on Disney+! Tom Holland voices one of the main characters, Ian. The movie centers around Ian and his brother who use magic to bring their dad (who died before Ian was born) back for one day. I thought it was a touching movie!
Frozen II
This was the first movie I decided to watch when I got Disney+! I missed this one in theaters, but I was glad I finally got the chance to see it! I’m not sure if I liked it better than the first Frozen, but it was a cute movie. I really loved Elsa’s horse!
The Little Mermaid
This is my favorite Disney movie, therefore I have this one on Blu-Ray. I was still excited to see this on Disney+! I felt like re-watching this movie since being quarantined…I don’t know, something about “I want to be where the people are” really resonates with me right now. Plus, I love all of the ocean vibes!
Marvel x All of Them
I mentioned in one of my recent Friday Favorites posts that I was taking on the Marvel marathon. While I actually own most of the Marvel movies on DVD, I was missing a few (like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man). Now, I can completely watch the marathon (well, except for The Incredible Hulk, because apparently that’s not even on Disney+)! At this point, I have finished the first Avengers and hope to watch Iron Man 3 next.
What’s On My Watch List
Aladdin
I haven’t watched many of the new live-action movies (I think the only one I watched was Beauty and the Beast). I’d like to start with Aladdin! If I remember correctly, it received decent reviews. After Aladdin, I’ll probably continue with the live action Lady and the Tramp and Lion King!
Tangled
I don’t think I’ve watched this one fully, even though many people seem to love it. I can’t wait to watch this from beginning to end! My mom actually gave me a Tangled decoration that I have in my room (she thought it was from The Little Mermaid as it shows two characters in a boat), so it’ll be nice to actually watch the movie!
Nature Documentaries
Disney+ has so many nature documentaries! A few dolphin ones have caught my eye-I really love dolphins, and as it nears summer, I’m going to want some ocean and tropical things to watch.
I still haven’t seen the live action version of Aladdin – I loved the Disney+ live action version of Lady & the Tramp though!! 💜 Also, Tangled is a favorite of mine! 💯

I am slowly making my way through Mandalorian–I want to really savour it and not binge it right away, so I’m watching it every Friday night!! I’m FINALLY going to watch the Avengers movies; my sister & cousin have been begging me to do that for years at this point. Other than that, I occasionally watch one of the vintage Disney princess films. I should watch the nature docs at some point!!

Ah yes, I’ve heard a lot of people talking about the Mandalorian. That’s a good idea to watch it on Friday nights. And yay, I hope you enjoy the Avengers movies! I love watching some of the classic princess movies too!

I just watched Onward and Frozen II last week! I’m going to put Tangled on my list too, I’ve never seen it fully and everyone always raves about it being the best Disney movie. I’ve never seen Brave either, I’ll have to see if they have it!

Nice, it looks like our lists are pretty similar then! Brave is another one I still need to watch too! I’m pretty sure I saw it on there.

Around Halloween, I loved watching the Halloweentown movies. My regular faves were probably Get a Clue and Read It and Weep. What were your favorites?

Halloween town is a classic, those used to always make it seem like fall definitely was around. I would have to go super classic like my date with the presidents daughter or brink along with a bunch of others.

I didn’t sign up for Disney+, still on the fence on whether I should. The Little Mermaid is my favorite! And Aladdin was good, I enjoyed it when I watched it in theaters. Thanks for sharing doll, hope you have fun during your marathon!!

We’re mostly watching Gummi Bears on it right now, my two younger girls (7 and 5) love it and my teen daughter (15) even likes it. The young ones are both desperate to see Frozen II again but it’s not available here yet (17th July according to the app)

Nice, that’s great that it keeps your daughters entertained! That’s too bad that Frozen 2 isn’t available yet, but I’m sure they’ll love rewatching it in July!
