Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a magical holiday surrounded by loved ones. I hope you get everything you wanted, whether it’s material or not. I hope you have an amazing day full of laughter, family, cheer, and, of course, chocolate!

I know the holidays can be hard sometimes. Maybe something happened around the holidays, you’ve had a difficult year, or you’re missing someone this Christmas. It’s okay if your holiday isn’t magical. Just because one Christmas feels off, doesn’t mean that they all will be. I hope you’re okay this year, and remember to hang in there!

For today’s post, I wanted to briefly share my favorite activities on Christmas Day. I mentioned a few in my A Cozy Winter Tag post, but I thought I would expand and include a few more. This isn’t a long or unique list, but I hope you enjoy the post and can relate!

Sustainable for the Holidays

Christmas is one of the busiest shopping times of the year. While this is good for businesses, it can be bad for the environment. I have happily seen a few other bloggers I follow post sustainable Christmas posts (or sustainable posts in general), so I have featured a few of my favorites throughout this post as well!

Favorite Holiday Drinks

I tend to get excited more for seasonal drinks than the food (probably due to my obsession with coffee). I love minty flavors, so I enjoy seeing all the peppermint options that are offered during the holiday season!

Having a Blue Christmas

Christmas is an exciting time filled with joyous moments with family and friends. People are excitedly putting up Christmas decorations, giving gifts, baking cookies, and singing along to Christmas songs. With everyone else having such a picture perfect time, the holidays can be difficult for people who are not-whether it be for mental illness, the loss of a loved one, financial troubles, having to work for Christmas, etc.

This particular post is going to focus on losing a loved one, but it’s okay to feel blue around the holidays for other reasons too! You can’t help when you’re feeling down, and all of the expectations to enjoy the holiday season can be overwhelming. Just remember to hang in there!

Christmas Movies to Watch This Year

I have to admit-I’m terrible at keeping up with shows and movies on Netflix (I know, I know-I’m probably the only one). I’m normally stuck on one show with multiple seasons, so I neglect watching anything else. This year, however, I’m going to try to get into the holiday spirit with a few Netflix movies!

From what I can tell, it looks like Netflix has already added a few new holiday movies this year. My mom absolutely loves Christmas movies, so I’m sure she’ll enjoy watching these with me! Plus, it’s been snowy and freezing outside, so it’s the perfect weather to stay indoors and watch Christmas movies (with a cup of warm hot chocolate).
