2020 Reflection + 2021 Resolutions

2020 Reflections and 2021 Resolutions

At the beginning of 2020, I wrote a post with my goals for the year. Of course, I didn’t realize that the world would become the way it is today, and many of those goals were not accomplished. With everything happening, I didn’t keep up with my blog or my YouTube channel as I intended, and I didn’t get to travel or fulfil other personal resolutions that I created for myself. Despite this, I still managed to achieve quite a few things, and I have a few aspirations I would like to strive for in 2021.

Goals for 2020

Happy New Year! I hope you had a fun time bringing in the New Year, whether you worked, went out, or stayed in. Personally, I went to the mall with my parents during the day (there was a restaurant nearby that they had wanted to go to), and then we went home to relax and watch Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Eve on TV.

Normally I’m not someone who makes a list of resolutions at the beginning of a new year, but I wanted to this year (it’s the start of a new decade, after all!). I’ve been tired and frustrated at where I am in life, so I’m determined to get closer to where I want to be. I believe I accomplish more when I can see what I’m working towards, so I wrote down my goals to inspire me throughout the year!

I have quite a few goals, so I thought I would separate them into personal, blogging, and YouTube goals. While I will likely have short-term goals every month, the goals listed in this post are more long-term. Of course, I always wish for happiness and health for myself and friends and family (and for everyone really), but as it’s something I hope for every year, I didn’t include it in the following list.

2019 Resolutions

Normally, I don’t participate in the whole New Year’s Resolutions thing; I try to have monthly goals instead. I had a long list for December, but I wasn’t very successful. I think that a month might be too short of a time span for the things that I want to accomplish, so instead, I’m making this post to share my aspirations for the entire year. It’s probably useful to have both long-term AND short-term goals anyway.

Looking back on my highlights of 2018, my year seemed a bit boring. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad year overall, but I seemed to be staying put where I’m comfortable instead of pushing myself. This year, I want to make some progress. I’d like to try new things, learn new things, achieve my goals, and meet more people. Maybe I’m just inspired because it’s the beginning of a new year, but I really, really want to be in a happier place next year where I’m doing things that I’m passionate about.
